Firstly, my photograph of the Snow Monkey has made it to the cover and I’m featured in a 12 page spread of this month’s Nikon Focus magazine! I couldn’t be more excited! ![]()

Secondly, towards the end of this year, another goal will be checked off my Life List! My very first solo-exhibition, Wild Moments, will be held at 2902 Gallery from 6th - 23rd Nov 2008, proudly sponsored by Nikon. It’s really a great honor to be able to work with Nikon. Thank you for making my dreams come true. ![]()

I hope to see you at the opening night! cheers!
Woke up to a lovely and cool Sunday morning… decided to put on my running shoes and head for a short run ard the neighborhood, khatib bonsu park connector tracks to be exact.
I’m not exactly a runner-type, but the day was just too perfect to not be outdoor and feel the breeze in my face. As i ran, took in the sight, sound and smell of the surroundings…To the left of the track, pigeons preening by the canal, one of them fell into the water and it was quite a funny sight as it got its feet back on the ground… smell of curry from the kitchen of the flats to the right of the track… charcoal smell too, reminds me of my grandma’s old house in Kallang. Feels great to be able to be at one with myself and Nature.
Ran a total of about 2km without stopping… quite proud of my small achievement, hehe.
After the run, joined my best friend at Yishun10 Burger King for brunch… my favorite BK Ham Croissant and cranberry juice…
how perfect can it be? a great morning run with Nature and myself, hanging out with the best friend and a scrumptious breakfast… what more can i ask for? really…
What a beautiful and magical song! Most of it contains the princesses’ original voice actresses, except Cinderella and Snow White ( due to the age of the film ). I’m so loving it.
If You Can Dream
There is a world where hope
And dreams can last for all time
A wondrous place to go
You’ll know it when your heart finds
Hearing our song as old as rhyme
Hold my hand we’re gonna fly
What a magic ride
And just a kiss away
If you can dream
The wish we’re making
On a star is coming true
The colours of the wind will lead
My heart right back to you
‘Cause if you can dream
Reflections in a diamond sky
Come shining on true
Romance will always be so new
And love will save the day
If you can dream
Someday my prince will come
It’s certain as the sun rise
One day the slipper fits
Then you see the love in his eyes
It’s a tale as old as time
There’s no mountain we can’t climb
When you’re finally mine
And just a kiss away
If you can dream
The wish we’re making
On a star is coming true
The colours of the wind will lead
My heart right back to you
‘Cause if you can dream
Reflections in a diamond sky
Come shining on true
Romance will always be so new
And love will save the day
If you can dream
So the story goes
Never die the rose
There’s a whole new world
Waiting there for us
(Waiting just for us)
If you can dream
The wish we’re making
On a star is coming true
The colours of the wind will lead
My heart right back to you
‘Cause if you can dream
Reflections in a diamond sky
Come shining on true
Romance will always be so new
And love will save the day
Love will say the day
If you can dream
Finally got my hands on the limited edition CD of Reuben’s music from the film, To Speak from Reuben’s Dad on Sunday afternoon…
It was a nice chat and i got to know Reuben even better now. Some of the things his dad told me about him just makes me wanna chuckle… Will always remember his cheeky smile… >_<
“There are dreams that may seem good but are only worth a short while, and there are dreams that you know you will have no regrets living for the rest of your life. Opposition to these dreams test how well we’ve thought it through and whether we really want it. ” - Reuben Kee. http://reubenkee.com
And I already know my dream is, the dream i wanna keep alive for the rest of my life….
Was really upset that my old phone died and all my messages were gone… messages i will never receive again from…
Dreamt of him last night…. really miss him.
The higher you get your hopes up, the harder you will fall when it didn’t come true.
After months and months of waiting… finally got the word two days ago that my photographs did not make it into the finals of BBC Wildlife Photographer of the Year, the world’s most prestigious award for Wildlife Photography. Competing against over 32,000 entries and 3,000+ photographers from all over the world…. it’s a small consolation to know that 4 of my photos did made it to the semi-finals.
However, I’m still very disappointed. Those 4 photos that got into the semi-finals were not the photos which i would thought would make it to that stage. I had initially thought 3 other photos that i submitted were much better in terms of composition, color, execution and story. I have pinned so much high hopes on them that when those didn’t even made it to the semi-finals, it came as a big shock that literally shaken the very core of my being.
That’s the thing about being an idealist… Believing in yourself that you think that everything is so possible and within your reach if you reach high enough… And higher and higher you go…. until one day the lightning strikes you and you fall back to earth like a fallen star…. all burnt out.
Then again, each failure serves as a great lesson. That i truly believe. I finally get what the judges are looking for by comparing the 4 photos that did went on to the semi finals, and those others that didn’t.
Till next year! I’ll be reaching for the stars again!
Was really disappointed by the usual printer i always goes to ever since my poly years… was at Douby Ghaut, Peace Center to print some of my works and the print job was so terrible… the color looks muddy, the dark areas looks blotchy and the details in my photos were totally lost…. they actually looked blur! After 4 tries, i gave up. And good thing they didn’t intend to charge me for those bad prints.
They kept insisting the printer settings has always been the same and that there is nothing they can do that the printer is not doing my photos justice. I was really disappointed as they used to do such a great job on my namecards and photo prints. Don’t know what happened to them.
And so i went to a 2nd shop, one level down. First try, saw the result… slightly better than the first be just not acceptable. And i gave up on the first try knowing that it’s going to be the same result no matter how many times tried. It’s just not the quality i’m looking for.
Just when i though my precious saturday afternoon is going down the drain, went to Color Vizo at Sunshine Plaza and first try was a charm! Vibrant colors on print as seen on the screen, sharp details, and the pictures just comes alive! Only had to do a few slight adjustment to brightness of my files as it’s always appears darker on print.
I’m thinking the reason may lies in the fact that they use Fuji Xerox printer and Apple computers. I love Fuji… my very first camera was a Fujifilm and the colors are just so nice.
Truly a match made in my heaven….
Was at the printer shop until 5.56PM when i have a movie to catch at 6PM at Cathay… Rush, rush, rush!
In the end, it was a well-spent Saturday and i enjoyed Narnia, Prince of Caspian and the company very much. ![]()
